Well, greenish! Three recently completed buildings at Coffs Harbour Education Campus have been designed with some green features:

Southern Cross University/ North Coast Institute of TAFE School of Nursing:

• Below-ground pre-cooling labyrinth for airconditioning inlet
• Natural ventilation with automatic window controls to individual rooms
• Naturally-ventilated spine corridor to promote air-flow throughout
• Passive gain to north-west facing rooms and north-east spine corridor

• North-east orientation for classrooms and staff rooms
• Large shading overhangs
• Daylighting and natural ventilation to automotive bays, through operable translucent clerestory windows
• Natural ventilation to classrooms
• Solid thermal mass walls to internal perimeter of corridor
• Collection of rainwater for use in automotive operations
