Green Buildings at Coffs Harbour Education Campus
Comments OffWell, greenish! Three recently completed buildings at Coffs Harbour Education Campus have been designed with some green features:
Southern Cross University/ North Coast Institute of TAFE School of Nursing:
- Below-ground pre-cooling labyrinth for airconditioning inlet
- Natural ventilation with automatic window controls to individual rooms
- Naturally-ventilated spine corridor to promote air-flow throughout
- Passive gain to north-west facing rooms and north-east spine corridor
North Coast Institute of TAFE Automotive Building
- North-east orientation for classrooms and staff rooms
- Large shading overhangs
- Daylighting and natural ventilation to automotive bays, through operable translucent clerestory windows
- Natural ventilation to classrooms
- Solid thermal mass walls to internal perimeter of corridor
- Collection of rainwater for use in automotive operations
North Coast Institute of TAFE Furniture Design Workshop
- Operable high level translucent windows for daylighting and natural ventilation
